FAQ

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY SEPTIC TANK BE CLEANED?
We recommended having your septic tank cleaned every two years to avoid costly repairs.

IF THERE ARE JUST TWO PEOPLE LIVING IN THE HOME SHOULD WE CLEAN THE TANK LESS OFTEN?
Even though there are only two people living in the home we still recommend cleaning it every two years. The sooner an issue is noticed and addressed will help add to the life of span of your system.

IF WE HAVE A PUMP CHAMBER DO WE ALSO NEED TO SERVICE THE PUMP CHAMBER EVERY TWO YEARS?
Pump chambers are a self-servicing chamber, the water inside the chamber is “Greywater” and only needs to be emptied when a technician needs to service the pump.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE LIFE SPAN OF A SEPTIC SYSTEM?
The lifespan of a septic system varies depending on how well the owner and family using the system treat it. Even a new system can quickly fail if the proper measures are ignored.

ARE THERE ANY SUGGESTION YOU CAN OFFER ON HOW TO INCREASE THE LIFE SPAN OF A SEPTIC SYSTEM?
Yes, we recommended using one ply toilet paper, making sure all faucets are tightly secured, and replacing any older toilets. We would also suggest to limit your use of water when doing laundry or talking a shower.

IF I HAVE AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM OR IF I AM PLANNING ON HAVING ONE INSTALLED IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD KNOW?
Yes, make sure the installer knows where your fields and tank are located. There should never be excess water going to the fields.

IF I NEED REPAIR WORK DONE ON TREES OR MY HOME IS IT SAFE FOR EQUIPMENT TO TRAVEL BY MY SYSTEM?
No, never drive vehicles (large or small) or equipment over the fields. If you are not sure where the fields are call your septic servicing company.
